...before they bring their child to MM Ski School

Skiing is, certainly, one of the best winter sports. And what is the most beautiful thing of all, is the fact that one can start skiing very early and that it is excellent for improvement of the motor control and movement coordination. When you decide to sign up your child for skiing, there are a few things you should bear in mind.

Kada se odlučite da upišete dete u školu skijanja postoji par stvari koje bi trebalo da imate u vidu.

Above everything, psychological...
Before signing up to ski school, it is very important for you to speak to your child and explain to them what skiing is (if they do not know), what a ski school is, who the instructors are, why they are important, how your child should behave and why it is important to obey their ski instructor. And, of course, encourage them by telling them they will have a lot of fun when winning their first tracks.
…and practical preparation afterwards!

  • Before signing up to ski school, it is very important for you to speak to your child and explain to them what skiing is (if they do not know), what a ski school is, who the instructors are, why they are important, how your child should behave and why it is important to obey their ski instructor. And, of course, encourage them by telling them they will have a lot of fun when winning their first tracks.
  • Before classes, you should take your child to the toilet, so that their class would be most pleasant and so that they would be relaxed as much as possible. It is better to be safe than sorry- :D.
  • Since you want for your child to learn how to ski, you must like this winter sport for sure and you probably can ski yourself. That is a wonderful thing, because, once your child learns how to ski, you will be able to experience all the magic of the mountain together. For this to be achieved, your child should have full confidence in their ski instructor and spend time with them during classes and lunchtime. Practically speaking, skiing can be learned very quickly and more easily when the authority is respected and obeyed. Conversely, if you wish to teach your child how to ski and give them advice parallelly, they will be confused, they will not know who to listen to and whose advice to follow. Here is a piece of advice: support and enjoy your child`s progress, but do not give them information that can confuse them!
  • We would kindly ask you to inform the ski instructor if your child has some specific needs, allergies, etc, so that everything goes smoothly and your ski school remains as a happy memory.
  • As much as children can be very brave in certain situations, it is completely normal that they have certain fears. One of these fears can be the fear of skiing, skis, the mountains, the snow and many other things. That is why we are here to help your children to overcome these fears and you are here to support them and encourage them.

The best way is with no pressure, because...

Skiing is a fabulous sport in such a way that when you get to like it, you will not have the patience to wait for the period of year when you can ski again. But, as any other love, this one does not happen overnight and it takes some time for the child to get used to this sport and to like it.

That is why we try not to put pressure on any child and to let the nature take its course, so you should, too.

We are also aware of the fact that a six-day-period is too short for one to get used to skis and that it is quite normal to spend more time to master certain techniques.

Your children have years ahead of them, and if not this year, they will be able to master both difficult and steep tracks the following year. Do not let your child dislike this fantastic sport just because they were put under unnecessary pressure.

…every child is the world for themselves.

Our school`s characteristic is a longtime experience and love for skiing, and our motto will always be SAFETY, FUN AND LEARNING.

Safety is our number 1, we take care of each student and we are committed to every child individually, because every child is different and acquires knowledge in a different way.

There is also one other thing each child equally gets, which is a fun way to acquire some new knowledge and techniques. It is very important to take into consideration that progress in skiing is individual and is different for every child. You should not compare your child with other children or be worried if they do not make progress as fast as you would like them to.

If your child is on the same level two years in a row, that only means that they will pass on to the next level more quickly. Be happy when you see that your child enjoys their winter days on the snow and the mountain, because sometimes it is quite enough.
